ProofColumn Weekly · Issue #001

Oct 29, 2026

A neutral, sourced look at the AI tools accounting, CPA and bookkeeping firms actually use. Nobody pays to be listed or ranked.

This week: we launched

  • 61 tools in 10 categories (Bookkeeping 10, Tax 10, AP/AR 9, Audit 7, AI copilots 6, Document extraction 6, Practice management 5, Close 4, Client communication 2, FP&A 2).
  • Every field was read from the vendor's own pages on Oct 29, 2026. Where a vendor doesn't say, we mark it unclear. We don't guess.

The number that matters: does it train on your clients' data?

  • 14 vendors say on their own pages that they don't train on customer data.
  • 5 say they do, in some form, such as per-client models, consent through AI features, or a configurable setting: Booke, Botkeeper, Rossum, Vic.ai and Liscio.
  • 42 of 61 don't say clearly. Ask about this before you upload a client file.

What changed

  1. Botkeeper is back. It announced a shutdown on Feb 7, 2026. On Feb 27, Xendoo bought the Infinite platform and says access "remains active and supported." (Accounting Today, Xendoo)
  2. Coupa acquired Rossum (May 12, 2026). This matters if Rossum handles your AP document intake. (Coupa)
  3. Microsoft 365 Copilot Business is now listed at $18/user/mo on yearly billing, down from $21, or $25.20 on monthly billing. (Microsoft)
  4. Renames: Formula Bot → Better Analyst, Klippa → Doxis, and Keeper → Double (Oct 2025).

Pricing transparency

31 of 61 tools publish a price or a free plan. The other 30 are "contact sales" (22) or show no price (8).

Help us keep it accurate

If you see a wrong field, or a tool we missed, reply or use the Submit page. Vendors can send corrections, but each one is checked against a public page before we publish it.

Sponsored slots, when they exist, are clearly labeled and never change listings.

Subscribe to the weekly newsletter. Every claim links to the vendor page it came from.
